27-30 March 2025 Australasian Reunion Ballarat, Victoria
Ballarat is a regional centre about an hour from Melbourne by train. It has a rich gold mining history and the birth place of Australian democracy. Ballarat offers a wide variety of accommodation for visitors.

Thursday 27 March
6pm Welcome dinner
Friday 28 March
10am - 5pm Visit to Sovereign Hill, a living folk museum based on the history of the gold rush in 1851 and The Gold Museum. A world renowned museum.
6.30pm Dinner at Rotary Place. (The venue)
Saturday 29 March
9.30am Presentations by Braund family members.
12.00 noon Tour of Ballarat Botanic Gardens, Lake Wendouree and the Prime Minister’s Walk.
3.00pm Presentations by Braund family members
7pm Reunion dinner Presentations by Braund family members Quiz.
Sunday 30 March
10am Presentations by Braund family members
12.00 noon lunch
2pm Tour of Ballarat city and Art Gallery
6pm Farewell BBQ

For international visitors late March is an ideal time to visit Ballarat as the heat of summer is over.
2-5 May 2025 Reunion and AGM North Devon

This year’s reunion is from 2-5 May and will be based in North Devon, with some online events. You will need to book in advance for all the in-person activities; you can just turn up to anything online. Booking forms and Zoom links will be emailed to all paid-up society members shortly, please check your junk folders. Non-members are welcome, please contact us for a booking form.

12.00-1.00pm Zoom talk ‘Farming in Victorian North-west Devon’ by Janet Few
2.00pm Meet in the carpark in Westbourne Terrace, Westward Ho! EX39 1LL to walk along the Burrows to the Pebble Ridge Café, Northam Burrows EX39 1XS (under two miles) or meet at the Café at 3.00pm.​
6.00pm for 6.30pm Evening Meal at The Bell, Rectory Lane, Parkham EX39 5PL.

Saturday 3 May​
10.15am Visit to Coldridge to learn about Devon’s connection to the Princes in the Tower, followed by a two course lunch.
2.45pm TBA
6.30pm for 7.00pm Evening meal at Country Cousins, 3 Westbourne Terrace Westward Ho! EX39 1LL.

Sunday 4 May
11.00am Church Service at St Anne’s, Bucks Mills
12.30pm for 1.00pm Carvery lunch with vegetarian alternative at Merry Harriers, Woolfardisworthy, EX39 5QH.
4.00pm Bucks Mills tour with Chris. Meet in Bucks Mills car park.
8.00pm AGM online followed by virtual chat until 10.00pm

10.00am Bee-spoke tour of Quince Honey Farm, Aller Cross, South Molton EX36 3RD. This will include talks and activities not available to regular visitors.
